Monday 21.11.11

Monday morning and we have the rain which was needed to put out the bonfire yesterday. Well better late than not at all. At least the neighbour cannot complain now.  Work which should have got done yesterday is now done, so the Turkeys have a nice clean bed to look at, they actually perch at night, but they smell a lot nicer now.  I am going to bed with my favourite poultry book, I read a very interesting chapter last night part of which was about windfall apples, apparently the acid in the apples which all hens love to eat will keep them thin so not recommended to build the hens up for a hard winter.

Hello Everyone

What a lovely day its been, putting out a bonfire after the neighbours complained, oh well, they shouldn`t live in the country, yesterday we had a busy day generallys sorting out some of the pens to see what birds will be ready to lay in the spring.
Lots of hatching eggs, here, if you would like to put orders in for the spring then thats o.k. we will make pre orders for you.

today`s thoughts

Well its November and really quite mild so the eggs are still being laid by quite a few of our hens, so hatching eggs still available.  I will be listing some on my friends site, http://www.fertilehatchingeggs.com/ as Dave has his poultry on our field so he can collect and post the eggs very quickly.
please have a look at the site, its being updated daily.
