well what a time I am having, our website for fertile hatching eggs is not working at the moment,. It has been taken down by the hosting company who have problems on the servers. Or so they tell me. I have a very good friend who is helping me get this site working again so if you are interested in any of our hatching eggs, please be patient, it is being sorted.
In between while I am trying my best to get the site that you found this blog on to list all the hatching eggs that I have for sale either now or in the next month or so.
We are busy with the Incubator, testing all the eggs for fertility as the birds come back into lay from there Winter rest. Chicks will be available for sale from these hatchings.

February 2014
During this month we will be incubating any spare hatching eggs that are not sold on our web site www.fertilehatchingeggs.com
I update the list as often as possible and also test hatch for the fertility to check that the eggs sent will be viable. I look at the shell quality of each egg before wrapping to post and also weigh the egg. Any egg which is oversize is not posted. I do not post any egg I would not be happy to receive myself.
We now have 2 young men who are helping us 2 days a week and we are slowly updating all our premises. Please bear in mind when you visit that we have been in this business for over 15 years so some of the fencing and sheds are looking a bit tired, We want to look after our birds first and foremost and the maintenance of the property gets done when we can.
My husband and I are not in good health so we get done everything which is needed for the health and welfare of the birds. James and Richard are young and fit so can get on with things we find a struggle.
I am so glad we have them here now to help us.
Some better weather would be a help also, our field is like everywhere else holding water and the geese are loving their weather made pond.
The Geese have just started laying lovely big white eggs.
We now have over 30 geese so the eggs should be fertile should anyone wish to buy some for hatching. We sell them for £1.00 each.

Fosters Poultry January 2016. Busy days ahead
Hello Everyone,
We are delighted to be Agents for the Black Rock Pullets from Scotland. Orders taken for these need to be collected on the day they arrive so we do not stress them out by housing them and then catching them again a few days later. This stress is not really needed for these beautiful birds. Eddie Lovett is a lovely man who delivers the birds himself all the way from Bridge of Weir where he rears the birds and houses all the parent stock which originated from Peter Siddons of Muirfield Hatchery
We will be having deliveries of our lovely Goldline Hybrid Point of Lay Pullets in January and we are taking orders for these. I hope you will be able to collect the birds on the day they arrive here which is less stressfull for them. We don`t like housing them and then picking them up again after a day or so as this means them going through another move which always stresses the birds and us.
DAY OLD Cobb and Hubbard Meat Birds. Orders are being taken for these birds which come from the hatchery I have been let down on a few occasions with non collection of the meat birds and we do not have room to house them. Consequently these have to be paid in advance and orders of 50 or more. If we have enough small orders to make up 50 then that is when the order is placed.

5th July 2013 Update on Fosters Poultry
I have been informed that over the last month my other web site of fosterschickens.co.uk had been hacked and had malware files on it.
This has now been dealt with so I am sorry if you had a problem with the site, everything is now back to normal.
As for the normal life of Fosters Poultry, we have had a delivery from our rearing shed of White Leghorns, Rhode Rock and Light Sussex. These are 16 weeks old and all vaccinated, ready to go to new homes. A Care sheet can be supplied if needed. These birds are £15.00 each.
Other birds here for sale is Goldlines, which are 16 weeks old and we are selling for £9 each.
The Copper Blacks which we have had for the last 2 weeks have proved very popular so we only have 10 left now.
Aylesbury Ducklings here now are 2 weeks old and unsexed we are selling these for £5.00 each.
Goslings all sexed girls are also here 3 weeks old and selling for £12.00 each.

NEWS ON NEW AGENCY FOR US.
We are now registered Agents for the Fenton Rose Hen , a lovely white and gold coloured Hen which lays a prolific supply of Blue eggs.
These will be available on a regular basis and will cost £20 each at Point of Lay. Day old sexed chicks will be £5.00 each. All birds are vaccinated.
Latest arrivals of these is today 23rd March, there is 70 chicks which are 10 days old, we also have a mixture of other chicks to go with these if you would like a selection to rear of hens which will lay various coloured eggs.
The birds will lat when they are between 20 and 24 weeks.

A dry day with sunshine thankyou nature for being on our side for once.
As you may have noticed the Blog has been quiet since last year but now I will try to be more on the ball with the posts.
This week we are expecting a good hatch with our sexed Copper Black Maran chicks and also if all goes well we will have some lovely blue egg laying girls here as well.
Orders are being taken for them on a first come first served basis .
Point of lay birds also here next week, but here at the moment we have various age birds if you would like to have growers which will come into lay in a few weeks time.
The hatching eggs are getting going too isn`t Spring wonderful. Lighter nights we can get so much more done.

Hatched today and vaccinated by my sister, there are Light Sussex large fowl also, rhode x light sussex, barnvelder x light sussex and a few others, in bantams, there are Lemon Mille fleur barbu d`uccle, red pekins, mottled pekins, and Polands in all colours.
Please ring if you are interested in any of these chicks, a care sheet can be supplied if you would like to rear these yourself and see the full life cycle of the birds.
The large fowl birds from this selection will be laying in the spring.

We are all enjoying the sunshine today after all the rain of the last evenings has made such a mess around the place. I am setting eggs today for chicks in 3 weeks time and taking orders for them, Large fowl and bantams, these are the surplus eggs that haven`t sold on our www.fertilehatchingeggs.com web site.
Please take a look if you have an incubator or broody, the cockerels are still active and we have quite a good hatch rate even though it is later in the season.

Now the winter nights are here and I am inside more in the evenings I will be writing the blog more often to keep people up to date with the goings on at Fosters Poultry.
We are now stocking a very good range of Incubators, including the manual and automatic versions of Corti, 25 and 50 egg machines. These are the best small incubator I have used and so we have become a stockist. We also have a starter kit which is listed on the web shop.
Lots of hatching eggs are here for beginners to have to start off this really interesting hobby and if you are local we will have back any cockerels that are not needed from your hatchlings.
We are looking for a Barnvelder Cockerel since our lovely boy died last week so if anyone has one to rehome we would be grateful for him.
In the spring we would like to take our hatching service into Primary Schools, Nursery schools and into any other establishment which would like to see chicks hatch. We will supply the incubator and eggs for the last few days before the chicks hatch and take the package including chicks away when they are a few days old, once the chicks are 3 days old. If anyone is interested in the Gloucestershire area please get in touch by ringing the Mobile 07709933064.

Well what an exciting time we are having, Carolyn my lovely daughter in law has come to help us for a few weeks so we are filling the incubator tonight for a lovely big hatch of large fowl and bantams in 3 weeks time. Lots of baby chicks here growing at the moment, although because of the weather we are having to keep the chicks on heat for a lot longer than normal.
Carolyn also practices Reiki as a qualified practioner so we are trying it out on the birds to see if they grow any quicker. Watch this space.

Yesterday we took delivery of 20 light sussex, 20 Rhode Rock and 20 Amberlink Point of Lay Hens, these we are selling for £14.00 each, we also had 50 Goldlines which we are selling for £9.00 each, these have not been reared with the other birds so have to be put seperate if you would like a selection please ring for an appointment to view.

10th february Point of Lay Hens delivered.
We have the 50 point of lay birds here delivered yesterday 10th February, well grown girls will be laying when they are between 18 and 20 weeks.
Breeds here are Light Sussex, Speckledy, Blue Ranger, White Leghorn and Rhode Rock. Please make an appointment to see the birds if you wish to purchase as there are times when we are not around.

Friday 3rd Feb, what a busy day
On Friday the 3rd Feb, we are having delivered, 50 Goldline Point of lay hens, also lots of sexed baby chicks of all the popular hybrids, when reared they will be laying at 18 weeks.
Over the weekend we have chicks hatching in our incubator, proving our eggs are fertile that we are selling in our shop and on ebay.
New range of feeders and drinkers also here as are all the vitamins and feed needed.
Looking forward to meeting all the customers who have pre ordered the chicks and hens but still some left to sell.

News about the web site.
Have been updating my web site today and adding new items, also put some more hatching eggs on ebay. Avairy panels are a good way to extend your run if you are finiding the one you have is not enough space for the birds, also good to make a temporary run to bring in new birds. We sell the 6x3 for £17 each, a good price for a locally made quality item.

Hatching is now under way again and hybrid sexed chicks day olds will be here Feb 3rd/4th. Orders now being taken for these, a care sheet can be supplied if required.

BUFF PEKIN DAY OLD CHICKS
Hatched 6 Buff Pekin chicks yesterday, for sale if anyone would like them for £4.00 each, unsexed very pretty lovable chicks, make very good pets in the garden and easy to rear, especially this time of year indoors.

Hatched 3 lovely baby ducklings today, khaki campbell crosses, beautiful brown and yellow, already eating scrambled egg and bread and milk to give them a good start in feeding.
